Q. What happens in the sterilization room?

A. The sterilization room is where the dentist's tools and equipment are cleaned and sterilized.

The sterilization process makes sure that no germs are passed on from one patient to the next.

A special piece of equipment called an autoclave is used to sterilize the dental instruments.

An autoclave look a bit like a microwave oven. It is specially designed to sterilize all equipment and tools, completely eliminating germs.
